Pick the day you want to learn and sail in New York City. Weekends and weekdays April through October in Manhattan. We know you have a busy work schedule. With Flex-Sail you can choose the dates you want to get your quality sailing education.
Learn as much as YOU want!
You get six hours of instruction each day, three in the morning and three in the afternoon (with a break ashore for lunch).
If you just want to find out what sailing is like, the first day (Level 1) will give you a great introduction to the saling lifestyle. For Day Sailing certification and the credentials to rent sail boats up to 30 feet, or join our Sailing Club, complete all three levels – a total of 18 hours on the water with our Learn to Sail Flex-Sail Schedule.
Training is all under sail
No classroom sessions ashore. All your time is spent aboard, sailing on the Hudson River from Chelsea Piers on the west side of Manhattan. Not only will you learn more than you thought possible in six hours, you'll enjoy a sense of freedom only sailing can deliver.

If you are doing the complete Learn to Sail Flex-Sail Schedule, we will send your textbook - Fast Track to Sailing - in advance and a lesson plan for each New York Learn to Sail session. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm, energy, the desire to learn and try a new lifestyle.
Flex-Sail Schedule fees per person:
- Level 1: $295
- Level 2: $265
- Level 3: $255

- Reservations for any session must be made at least three days prior to your start date.
- All requests will be taken on a space available basis.
- A minimum of two is required to open a sailing session boat.
- Sessions must be taken consecutively. Start with Level 1, then go to Level 2, 3 in that order.
