NEW FAST TRACK TO SAILING TEXTBOOK AVAILABLE IN E-BOOK FORMAT

Steve and Doris Colgate Author Eighth Book for Sail Training

FORT MYERS, FL - (September 2011) – The Colgate’s latest two books and another slated for publication in 2012 are for adventurers interested in learning more about sailing. Fast Track to Cruising - published in 2005, and Fast Track to Sailing  - published in 2009, both by International Marine/McGraw-Hill are now available in e-book format through on-line bookstores.

Performance Sailing and Racing to be published by International Marine/McGraw Hill in early 2012, will also debut in both soft-cover and e-book format.

Comprehensive and in full color throughout,  with vivid photography, sidebar tips and easy to use self-tests - Fast Track to Sailing follows the Offshore Sailing School three-day Learn to Sail course curriculum. Fast Track to Sailing follows the school's popular 7-day curriculum which starts with two days of the Learn to Sail course on Colgate 26 sailboats, and then continues the next five days on a 43' to 50' cruising yacht for the Live Aboard Cruising course.  The new performance sailing and racing book will augment two Offshore Sailing School courses: Performance Sailing and Performance Racing.

“If you want to learn to sail, look no further,” comments Peter Nielsen, Editor-in Chief of SAIL Magazine, which awarded the Colgate the prestigious “Industry Award for Leadership” in 1996.

Fast Track to Sailing was welcomed by many in the sailing industry, including Les Raas, former President of TUI Marine – the largest charter company in the world with 1,500 sail and power boats for charter at forty-two bases in twenty-one countries. “We heartily recommend Fast Track to Sailing to anyone interested in taking the first steps to a new and wonderful lifestyle,” says Raas. “Learn it right the first time and the rewards are incredible – and this book teaches it right.”

Offshore Sailing School was founded in 1964 by Steve Colgate in New York City. Celebrating the start of its 48th year this November, the school has seven locations and covers instruction from Learn to Sail through Ocean Passage Making. “We are passionate about teaching sailing and forever grateful to the more than 125,000 graduates who chose Offshore Sailing School as their path to a lifelong adventure on the water,” writes Steve. Together with his partner and wife, Doris, the Colgates have won many awards for their impact on bringing people to the sailing lifestyle.

Fast Track to Sailing and Fast Track to Cruising are also available through Offshore Sailing School: 800-221-4326, www.OffshoreSailing.com, Sail@OffshoreSailing.com.
